Main Event Comedy Club Starring Julie Scoggins

Julie Scoggins will be in the house on January 25th! Julie is a former trucker, pooper-scooper, & charm school graduate from Charlotte, North Carolina, and has been touring as a full time stand-up comedian for over 15 years. On the road approximately 36 weeks a year with one week a month set aside for “marriage preservation”. You may have heard Julie before on XM/Sirius Blue Collar Radio, as well as many syndicated stations including the John Boy & Billy Show, and the Bob & Sheri Show, (Charlotte, NC), & the Bob & Tom Show (Indianapolis, IN). Known as a Southern girl with universal appeal, Julie’s shows sell out from Florida to Oregon. Folks actually WANT to sit in the front row & have been known to return a second night, just so they can bring friends that haven’t yet seen her. Franklin-Southampton Concert Series Presents: Letters From Home

In 2010, Letters from Home was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the show is now one of the fastest growing musical movements in the United States. Franklin-Southampton Concert Series Presents: The Virginia Symphony

The Virginia Symphony is a real treat for our area provided by the Camp Foundation. The orchestra has been under the direction of JoAnn Faletta since 1991. It has risen to celebrated artistic heights performing classical, pops, and family concerts in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News, and Williamsburg. The Virginia Symphony also provides professional musicians and orchestral support for the Virginia Opera, the Virginia Arts Festival, the Virginia Stage Company, the Ballet, and the Todd Rosenlieb Dance Group. Our concert, a mix of classical and pops, will be conducted by Benjamin Rous, the Resident conductor who joined the Virginia Symphony in 2010. In the summer, he serves as faculty conductor of Greenwood Music Camp in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts.  Read More

Down Home Day

Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Down Home Day is a family day full of heritage activities for everyone. Check out the petting zoo and sheep shearing or watch logs being sawn on a 1928 sawmill. Take a peek at corn being ground into fresh cornmeal on a replica grist mill. Taste a fresh cornbread patty or purchase your own cornmeal. Local printers will demonstrate the 1880s printing press. Visitors will get to take home a souvenir bookmark made on the press that day. If you like blue grass music, there's none better than Shiloh Grass. Get there early and get your seat!
